Competitive Cation Adsorption on Electron-Irradiated Sheep Wool Changes the Fitting of Adsorption Isotherms for Single-Component Solutions

چکیده
This work analyses 10 adsorption isotherm models applied to of Cr(III) and Cu(II) from binary solutions on electron-irradiated sheep wool (0-24-100) kGy. The results are compared with fitting the same adsorbates corresponding single solutions. competing cation significantly changes selected isotherms extent that even simultaneous in solution is rare. In case Cr(III), 4 favourable matches were found out 30 cases, while Cu(II), only 2 conformities found. Having coordination number exclusively 6, but up 4, 5, last coordinates more easily ligands provided by keratin, resulting preferential chemisorption. If there still a lack cysteic acid interact also, this adsorbed physically, too. amount increasing absorbed dose energy improves chemisorption as well. It can be summarized during competitive adsorption, binds both physisorption chemisorption, depending wool.

Water adsorption isotherms of lipids.
Hydration of bilayer lipids is a fundamental property of biological membranes. The available database of lipid hydration isotherms is fitted over the entire range of water activities by using a statistical mechanical approach that is an extension of the common Brunauer-Emmett-Teller model, to include differential energies of association for water molecules beyond the first strongly bound layer....
متن کاملStudy of the Behavior of Metal Adsorption in Acid Solutions on Lignin Using a Comparison of Different Adsorption Isotherms
−− The adsorption process of Nickel and Vanadium dissolved in acid liquor on lignin is studied in this work. Different adsorption isotherm models are used to adjust liquid-solid systems: Langmuir, Freundlich and Redlich-Peterson. It was obtained that the metal adsorption using lignin proceeds by similar chemical mechanisms. Possibly the Nickel is adsorbed in heterogeneous monolayers, contrary t...
متن کاملAdsorption Isotherms on Fluoride Removal: Batch Techniques
The ability of cynodon dactylon based thermally activated carbon to remove fluoride from aqueous solution has been investigated. The batch adsorption studies were carried out at neutral pH as the functions of contact time, adsorbent dose, adsorbate concentration, temperature and effect of co-anions, which are commonly present in water. The rate of adsorption was rapid during initial 105 minutes...
متن کاملBase-dependent competitive adsorption of single-stranded DNA on gold.
We characterize the room-temperature adsorption of single-stranded DNA homo-oligonucleotides from solution onto polycrystalline Au films, including competitive adsorption between all possible pairs of unmodified oligomers. Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) and X-ray photoelectron (XPS) spectroscopy analysis of the resulting films shows that oligonucleotides adsorb with a strongly base-dependent...
متن کاملTemperature Dependence of Hydrogen Adsorption Isotherms
In the past it has already been shown that adsorption isotherms of liquid or solid lms are not described completely by the Frenkel Halsey Hill theory. Substrate roughness as well as thermal uctuations have to be taken into account in understanding the adsorption behavior. The inclusion of thermal uctuations into the adsorption theory has already been addressed and proven to provide an explanati...
